Guilty Verdit in Worthington Case

Posted by: Joseph Griffin
November 16, 2006

The jury returned a guilty verdict today in the trial of the slaying of fashion writer Christa Wotrthington.  The jury was out for over a week and saw one juror dismissed for improprieties.  This case, more than any other in recent memory, demonstrates how tricky it can be when dealing with a jury.  Juries after all, are regular people thrust into a difficult and unfamiliar situation.  Clearly defense counsel did a good enough job to keep them out and carefully considering the evidence.  In the end, that's what we all expect from both defense attorneys and juries.
